Joshua Goodman is a founding partner of the law firm. He handles litigation involving personal injury, professional liability, construction defect and mold claims. In addition, Mr. Goodman litigates insurance coverage matters on behalf of insurers, policyholders, and businesses seeking coverage for third-party claims. Mr. Goodman’s practice extends throughout Northern California. He has tried cases before juries in San Francisco, Alameda, Marin, Contra Costa, Solano, Sonoma and Stanislaus Counties. Before entering law school, Mr. Goodman received a Masters degree in Philosophy from the University of London. He received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1984, and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Joseph R. Grodin on the California Supreme Court. Mr. Goodman is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Mr. Goodman co-authored California Civil Discovery Practice (3d ed. CEB 1998), and has authored legal articles addressing a variety of topics, including “Conducting Discovery Beyond the Code”; “Other People’s Policies: How to Evaluate and Enforce an Additional Insured’s Rights”; “A Perspective on Economical Litigation”; and “Fear of Future Injury: Compensation or Not?” He currently serves as an arbitrator for San Francisco, Marin and Alameda Counties, and as a judge for the Golden Gate University School of Law Appellate Advocacy Program. He also lectures to lawyers in continuing education programs on various matters, including construction defect and mold litigation and conducting discovery.

Mr. Goodman enjoys the highest Martindale-Hubbell rating awarded to individual attorneys (AV).
